The Warrior of Teachers' Struggle!
Shri. Khanderao Jagdale Sir is a dynamic leader who has been fighting on the streets for the rights of teachers and non-teaching staff in Maharashtra for the past 25 years. While working as the Headmaster of New English School, Mauje Agar (Shirol), he united schools across the state through the Unaided School Action Committee, creating a powerful alliance of 70,000 teachers and headmasters.
For the rights and dignity of teachers, he faced political imprisonment 7 times and endured brutal police lathi-charges. His entire life is dedicated to the welfare of teachers, marked by immense personal sacrifices. In September 2016, when he lost both his parents within a short span, he set aside his profound grief, even with his father's mortal remains before him, to lead a massive teachers' rally in Kolhapur.
In recognition of his relentless sacrifice and struggle, he has been honoured with the 'Prerana Award'. He is now ready to be the official voice of teachers in the Legislative Council from the Pune Division Teachers' Constituency.

Journey
2000
United 70,000 headmasters, teachers and non-teaching staff across the state to remove the unjust 'Permanently Unaided' status.
June 2008
Led a historic 16-day protest at Azad Maidan, Mumbai (1-16 June). Endured a brutal lathi-charge and arrest, which paved the way to scrap the 'Permanent' tag.
2011 - 2012
Official evaluations began; helped hundreds of schools qualify for financial aid.
October 2015
Organised a historic 'Rail Roko' protest by halting trains at Miraj.
December 2015
Led a 170 km, 5-day foot-march of 15,000 to 20,000 teachers to Nagpur in freezing cold, making the government announce 20% aid.
June 2016
Regional agitations (1-15 June) led to the first 20% grant for 9,628 schools.
September 2016
Despite losing both parents, set aside personal grief to lead a massive teachers' rally in Kolhapur.
July 2024
Successfully led a massive 'School Bandh' agitation with 35,000 teachers at Azad Maidan, Mumbai on 8-9 July.
2026
Candidate for the Legislative Council from the Pune Division Teachers' Constituency.
