Ahead of the Pune Division Teachers' Constituency election, a special school-visit tour of Shirala taluka was organised under Abhijit Apte's leadership to campaign for Shri. Khanderao Shivajirao Jagdale, the official candidate of the Maharashtra State Unaided School Action Committee.
The team visited 42 schools and held detailed discussions with headmasters, teachers and staff about their difficulties. The main points raised were the old pension, 100% grants, Pavitra portal recruitment and the burden of non-academic work.
