Memorandum to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and School Education Minister seeking a One Time Relaxation so that B.Ed./D.Ed.-qualified non-teaching staff in 100% and partially aided schools can be promoted to teacher posts.
The memorandum was addressed to the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, the School Education Minister and Minister of State, the Chief Secretary (School Education and Sports) and the Commissioner of Education.
While welcoming the transparency the Pavitra portal brought to recruitment, it points out that non-teaching staff who earned B.Ed./D.Ed. qualifications after years of service are now kept out of teacher posts by the changed policy.
The demand is that staff who complete the required qualification by 31 December 2026 be promoted through a one-time relaxation wherever a teacher post is vacant in their institution, with a separate government resolution issued for it.
