Old pension, 100% grants, service protection and freedom from non-academic work: our commitment to teachers.

Financial Justice & Pension Rights

  1. 1Implement the old pension scheme for all teachers and non-teaching staff.
  2. 2Increase school salaries and grants in line with the Cost of Living Index.
  3. 3Follow up for building-rent support to institutions running unaided schools.
  4. 4Secure statutory service protection and additional benefits for partially aided schools and divisions.
  5. 5Prioritise the issues of faculty and staff in engineering, medical and management courses, night schools, junior colleges, MCVC and ITI.
  6. 6Fair and dignified pay for all teachers and staff on the principle of 'equal pay for equal work'.

Service Protection & Administrative Reforms

  1. 7Make teachers' medical bills fully cashless, with online file approval going directly to the Deputy Director of Education.
  2. 8Secure a 100% grant for all unaided schools and divisions.
  3. 9Permanently scrap all oppressive conditions in staffing approval (sanch manyata).
  4. 10Revise student-strength norms to 15 for tribal/border areas, 20 for rural and 25 for urban areas (to protect Marathi schools).
  5. 11End the yearly RTE certificate renewal and make it valid for 10 years.
  6. 12Return the autonomous right to appoint teaching and non-teaching staff to institutions.
  7. 13Full protection for all basic posts in schools.
  8. 14Teachers' annual increments to auto-update in the online system.
  9. 15Legal protection for schools, teachers and staff from harassment by anti-social elements.

Educational Quality & Academic Freedom

  1. 16Freedom from 'Saral Portal' troubles and an end to its frequent server downtime.
  2. 17Completely stop non-academic and burdensome online work imposed on teachers.
  3. 18Cut unnecessary government activities so teachers can focus on 'only teaching'.
  4. 19Take proper measures for old schools threatened by the 'school wherever demanded' policy.
  5. 20Approve new aided schools only where genuinely needed, after studying the ground reality.
  6. 21Raise the retirement age of headmasters and teachers from 58 to 60 years.

A teacher is not just an employee but a nation-builder who shapes the next generation. Securing the retirement of teachers who gave their whole lives to society is the shared duty of the government and society.

Our simple, fair question

  • Does the appointment date change because the grant stage came late?
  • Does the date service began change?
  • Do the years given to students count for less?

Our demands

  • Apply the 1982 old pension scheme to all teachers and non-teaching staff appointed before 1 November 2005.
  • Count for pension the same service that is counted for the pay scale.
  • Decide on the principles of justice, equality and natural justice.
  • Guarantee teachers a dignified old age.
